On early-dismissal days we open at dismissal and start with snack.
Homework hour
A quiet hour with a helper close by
Children sit at tables by grade. Helpers get everyone started, read directions with the younger group and check in with the older children as they work. The work stays the child's own, and what is not finished goes home in the backpack for you to see.

STEM project
One build a day, with plain materials
Each afternoon has a project children can finish and take apart again: towers from cardboard, a lit bulb from a battery, a marble run, a kitchen experiment. Friday is for sharing what the week built. Projects start easy and have a harder version for the older group.
